Sierra and Skylar

Sierra is healthy, affectionate, and loves animals. She is outgoing and smart, too. Sierra loves to sing and dance, ride her bike, and jump on the trampoline. She’s just a happy kid, but sometimes sibling jealousy gets the best of her. Sierra has shown some acting out when angry or anxious or jealous of the attention her sister gets. She can be impulsive and attention-seeking, and she has some trouble following the rules. Sierra is in counseling to address these behaviors and is making great progress. Skylar has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome and Type 1 Diabetes, and she is monitored closely through Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Skylar also wears glasses and is difficult to understand when she tries to talk. She is learning a modified version of American Sign Language, and she is also in speech, occupational, and physical therapies. Despite the obstacles she faces, Skylar is an absolute joy to be around. She is sweet, loving, and very affectionate. Like her sister, Skylar loves to sing and dance, and she loves watching movies and riding her bike. These two sisters love each other like crazy and want desperately to be in a home together forever. Skylar and Sierra need a two-parent home, preferably one in which at least one parent has some medical knowledge or training. It would be preferable that they be the only children in the home due to Skylar’s extensive medical needs, but we’re looking for the right family, no matter what it looks like. Skylar and Sierra have siblings that will be adopted in another state and we are looking for a family that is willing to allow them to maintain contact. These two sisters are amazing, and they deserve to be best friends together in a home that loves and supports them.
