Barbara and Emmett

We realize that many of the bios here on the Heart Gallery talk about similar issues and themes, like kids experiencing chaos, uncertainty, and upheaval in their young lives. And you’re right…those words often represent a great deal of abuse and neglect that we just can’t share in any detail in these bios. That full disclosure comes later in the process, but we want to acknowledge here that the road these amazing kiddos have to take to get to the Heart Gallery is a rough one and it affects them all in different ways. This is certainly true for our friends Emmett, and Barbara. Their path to the Heart Gallery was not easy, but now that they’re here, let’s celebrate them! Emmett is the big brother, which is a role he loves. He loves the outdoors and is a genuinely polite young man. His goal each day is to be helpful to as many people as he can. We need more of that in this world, don’t we? Little sister Barbara likes to play outside, too, and she loves to cook and bake. She is a real people-pleaser as well, and she does all she can to make you proud of her. But remember that rough path? It affects these two, especially Emmett, so they need a home that will be patient as they learn to process their past and not let it define their future. Emmett and Barbara will need to be the youngest kids in the home, and they will thrive with close supervision and structure. Barbara especially needs an active family, whether that means outdoor or indoor activities. Their potential is limitless in the right environment, so if you want to explore being a part of the rest of their journey, ask for more info below.
