Gage

Our buddy Gage is a fantastic young man. Gage is considered a nonverbal autistic, although he is starting to talk some and verbally identify things appropriately. Gage is affectionate and lovable and doesn’t have a lot of bad behavior or throw a lot of fits or temper tantrums. Gage loves music and is very sweet and melts everyone’s hearts. He goes to sleep and sleeps well at night and doesn’t need any comfort items. He is starting to bathe himself and can dress himself if it is slip on casual wear. He does get frustrated easily and will sit and cry. He receives Occupational Therapy, but no longer needs physical therapy. Gage’s balance is better, and he loves to climb. Gage also likes to play inside, but is not into watching TV, playing on tablets, or other technology. He is more interested in putting the DVD cases in stacks or rows and organizing them instead of watching them. Gages loves to slowly and meticulously cut things into confetti with scissors (safely, we promise!), sing, and play with trucks. But perhaps his favorite activity is to spin objects and himself around – he will swing for hours if he could. Gage would do well in any type of family, but ideally, he would do best with a family who likes the outdoors, may have experience with Gage’s abilities, is knowledgeable of available services for him, and is able to provide him with the loving structure he does best in. He was an only child before foster care, but now he is in a household with kids his age and toddlers and does well with them. Gage loves animals and is arounds cats and both big and little dogs and does great with all of them. He likes to pet the animals and helps feed and water them, too. Gage’s adoption specialist is super close with Gage and can give you a much more detailed summary of Gage’s abilities and where he needs the most help and guidance. She’ll also tell you all about the life-long supports that will follow Gage wherever he goes, so you’ll never have to feel alone as you care for Gage. But the thing that he needs the most is you…a family that will love and support him as he grows and matures into an even more incredible version of the Gage we already know and love.
