Meet Adia – a quiet and thoughtful teen with a heart full of curiosity and creativity. She recently joined her school’s band and is learning to play the clarinet. She’s very musical and loves to read, so it’s fun to watch her discover the joy of reading notes. When it comes to reading books, Adia doesn’t play favorites—she loves all genres and could happily get lost in a good story for hours. At first, Adia may seem reserved, but once she feels comfortable, her personality shines through. She needs a patient and understanding two-parent home that appreciates the ups and downs of being a teenage girl. She would thrive in a family with siblings of any age who can be her companions on life’s journey. Adia has mixed feelings about adoption, and that’s okay. Her future family will need to gently encourage her and help her see that adoption can be a beautiful new chapter filled with love, support, and belonging. She also has biological family members who love her but cannot adopt, so it’s important that she be able to maintain these relationships and have as many people in her corner as possible. When she’s not wrapped up in a good book, Adia enjoys a great steak—her absolute favorite meal!
